🔓 Bootloader Unlock

Unlock Bootloader

Wipes everything. Samsung Knox trips permanently on unlock — no way back.

  1. Back up all data — unlocking factory resets your device
  2. Enable Developer Options: Settings → About Phone → tap Build Number 7 times
  3. Enable OEM Unlocking in Developer Options
  4. Enable USB Debugging in Developer Options
  5. Connect to PC: adb reboot bootloader
  6. Unlock: fastboot flashing unlock (older: fastboot oem unlock)
  7. Confirm on device screen — wipe happens immediately
  8. Device reboots to stock setup wizard

Use the exact TWRP build for your device model number. Wrong builds can brick.

  1. Download TWRP .img for your exact device variant from twrp.me
  2. Boot to fastboot: adb reboot bootloader
  3. Flash: fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
  4. Boot into recovery immediately: fastboot boot twrp.img
  5. In TWRP swipe to allow modifications

📦 Install ROM

Install LineageOS onSamsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE (N9005/P)

  1. Read through the instructions at least once before actually following them, so as to avoid any problems due to any missed steps!
  2. Make sure your computer has adb . Setup instructions can be found here .
  3. Enable USB debugging on your device.
  4. Make sure that your model number is one of the following (exact match required!): SM-N9005 SM-N900P
  5. Boot your device with the stock OS at least once and check every functionality.
  6. Remove all Google accounts from your device to avoid “Factory reset protection”
  7. LineageOS is provided as-is with no warranty. While we attempt to verify everything works you are installing this at your own risk!
  8. Build a LineageOS installation package. The recovery will be built as part of it!
  9. Locate the built recovery.img file, open a Command Prompt in the folder where the file was found, and TAR the file by running tar --format=ustar -cvf recovery.tar recovery.img check Tip: You can open a command prompt in any folder by right-clicking on empty space while holding Shift and selecting “O
  10. Power off the device, and boot it into download mode: With the device powered off, hold Volume Down + Home + Power . Now, click the button that the onscreen instructions correlate to “Continue”, and insert the USB cable into the device.
  11. Download and install the necessary drivers. Download the newest Samsung drivers from here . Install SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe .
  12. Download this version of Odin.
  13. Extract “Odin_3.13.1.zip”.
  14. Run Odin3 v3.13.1 found in the newly extracted “Odin_3.13.1” folder.
  15. Check in the top left of the Odin window that you see a valid device, it will show up as something like COM0 . check Tip: The COM port, or the number succeeding COM , may be any valid number.
  16. In the left side of the Odin window, you will see an “Options” tab, click it, and then un-check the “Auto Reboot” option.
  17. Check the box labeled next to the button labeled “AP”, and then click the “AP” button. In the menu that pops up, select the newly downloaded (or built) custom recovery .tar or .tar.md5 . check Tip: The filename may vary depending on your device, and the version of your custom recovery.
  18. Click “Start”. A transfer bar will appear on the device showing the recovery image being flashed. info_outline Note: The device will continue to display Downloading... Do not turn off target!! even after the process is complete.
  19. Manually reboot into recovery, this may require pulling the device’s battery out and putting it back in, or if you have a non-removable battery, press the Volume Down + Power buttons for 8~10 seconds until the screen turns black & release the buttons immediately when it does, then boot to recovery:
  20. Build a LineageOS installation package.
⚡ Root

Root with Magisk

Keep a backup of the original boot.img. Magisk is systemless — safer for updates.

  2. Download stock boot.img for your exact firmware build
  3. Install Magisk app on device
  4. In Magisk: Install → Select and Patch a File → pick boot.img
  5. Copy patched_boot.img to PC
  6. Flash: fastboot flash boot patched_boot.img
  7. Reboot and open Magisk to verify root
